Our most interesting sighting of lions in Zambia was a pride with a freshly killed zebra. The male lion was guarding the bulk of the body under a bush near where the females were. The alpha female was savoring the leg while the rest of the pride was waiting their turn.

There was a large group of Spotted Hyenas interested in the kill. The male half-heartedly jumped out to threatened them, but quickly lost interest and laid down next to the bush. The alpha female, for the most part, ignored the cries of the nearby hyenas as she licked and crunched the bones.
