One of the reasons we wanted to visit South Luangwa National Park was to see the endangered African Wild Dogs. They are not a “sure thing” but are making a comeback in Zambia due to conservation efforts. Some of the wild dogs we imaged have collars which assist with that protection.
We were fortunate to watch them playing, running, eating, relaxing, and hunting. They have beautiful coat colors which are unique to the individual dog and why they are also called “Painted Wolves”.
