Ocellated Frogfish (Fowlerichthys ocellatus).
We set out to find this visiting fish based on some directions from friends.
Being masters of camouflage we had about given up on it when we saw him posing right in the area we had just searched.
Thanks Dive Diva!
By then the tide was really pushing out (no, that green water is not Hollywood magic) and the frogfish seemed very active.
We have noticed many ambush predators seem more animated as the outgoing current starts pushing easy meal opportunities.
Reports were that this frogfish moved on within a few days so we felt very privileged to spend some time with it and document the interesting behavior.
The next surprise is always around the corner diving at the bridge.
