We visited Ecuador in December 2025 on a privately arranged trip with Neblina Forest. Andrea Molina was our requested guide and Luis Perez was our driver/facilitator. They were an excellent team allowing us to enjoy each day’s adventure without worry. As great spotters, they worked to find and show us some interesting subjects.
Sonia at Neblina Forest coordinated with us to prepare an excellent 14 day itinerary with stays in the East and West Andes starting and ending in Quito. We were able to see a wide variety of birds, insects and animals at different altitudes by traveling out from base locations. We saw 292 total species of birds with 227 “lifers” and 208 of those with photos. Photography conditions were often challenging requiring slower shutter speeds, patience and a high shutter count.
