There have been a variety of frogfish sitings this year at Blue Heron Bridge. John captured a short video sequence of an Ocellated Frogfish that surprisingly jumped out and drifted towards me while I was taking it’s picture. We had scanned the North East bridge side several times for this particular frogfish without success. As you can see, it was colored similarly to the sponges on the structure. When we returned to the area late in the dive, there were numerous divers huddled around while the frogfish was perched up near the top. It certainly didn’t seem daunted by our much larger size. The frogfish glided slow and leisurely back to a spot in some sponges. It looked like it was telling us to get lost and after a couple images we went on in search of new finds.
